Telia Play profile
ABOUT THE CASE
TELIA has a service called TeliaPlay - a streaming service with mix of popular TV, movies, and series for the whole family. It is available on mobile, tablet, and computer. TELIA has one default adult profile and users can create a kids profile. TELIA wanted to change this and bring in profile features to enable more personalization features in the service.
CHALLENGES

The log in flow is quite passive, users log in and land on the start page and they don’t see any prompted screen related to profiles.

At the moment, there's only one adult and kid profile. TELIA would like to have the opportunity to add more adult and kid profiles.

When the user is on the kid’s profile and forget, both the pin code and password, they are stuck in the kid’s profile.
The challenge, brainstorming & user flow
This project started with a meeting with Telia, where they explained to us their needs and the challenges they were facing.

We started by trying to understan the challenge and we created problem statements ou of the current situations. After that we analized the competition to know what they offer.
From that, we moved to analized the current user flow in the Telia play app (desktop; iOS, android).

We did some brainstorming to come up with the best ideas to solve the current flows .
As a member of a family all using Telia Play, I want an easy way to toggle to my own profile in the app/desktop so that I can find my own content quickly
As a user with my own profile in a shared account, I want to be able to register my preferences so that I can get suggestions based on my interests and my age
A mother of two teenagers and a toddler, wants that everyone have their own profiles so that she doesn't have to scroll through her kids’ content to get to her own

New user - Setting profile (Android)
In this flow I added the option to choose between an adult and a child profile from the beginning. You can also customize your profile in this step. On the original Telia flow, the user doesn't have these options.

Here the option to add more profiles was added to the flow. Which was one of the challenges to meet. Additionally, I added the option to add a guest profile, for those users who, for whatever reason, don't want to share their personal profiles.

I also added a shuffle intro (for current users). This makes the log in experience more interactive and less passive for the user, just like Telia wanted.

The shuffle consists of letting the application choose a random genre, for when the user doesn't know what they want to watch that day. The shuffle can be avoided if desired.
​
It can be a fun and spontaneous activity.
It will also encourage the user to explore other catalog content, that they don't usually watch and might enjoy.

Kid profile - change to adult profile (Android)
For the children's profile, the dead end was fixed. When the PIN code or password is forgotten, the user will have the option to get help by entering their email address and receiving instructions to be able to reset the PIN code.

In visual terms, I made the profile design more colorful, to make it more attractive and fun for children.

Prototype
Since this was a short project we only delivered wire flows. After the presentation with Telia, I decided to work on a prototype of my own, to get an idea of how the interactions would look like in real life.

In the children's profile I made most of the changes. I change the design of the nav bar. In the "Popular" section i added a spinning carousel, to make it more fun and engaging for the user. Finally I animated the "toggle profile" flow.

Improve the shuffle intro. Adding the option of movies, series or tv programs

Develop more customizations for profiles
